At Pearl Dental, Dr Robert Felkler is our implant surgeon who holds a Master’s degree specific to dental implants. Robert and Neshee have been working together for that last decade and have developed a great working relationship which is expressed in their work.
Pearl Dental provides digital planned and restored dental implants. This integrates 3D scanning, imaging and printing to plan your dental implants and also removes the need for the traditional dental impressions.

HOW MANY APPOINTMENTS WILL I NEED?
The number of appointments will vary as each treatment plan is tailored to each individual. In some situations, preliminary treatment may be required prior to dental implant placement. This would increase the number of expected appointments. The expected appointments include;
- Pre op assessment and discussion (consent)
- Within 2 weeks implant placement
- 2 weeks later stitches are removed
- 10 weeks later the implant is uncovered
- 2 weeks later dental impressions or a digital dental scan is performed
- 2 weeks later the final prosthesis is fitted
Please note that this is guide as there are many variables such as the need for bone grafting and options such as temporary crowns for anterior teeth.
WHAT SHOULD I EXPECT:
ON THE DAY
Dental implants are inserted under local anesthetic to help minimise discomfort during the operation. During the procedure you would not experience any pain but you will experience a pressure sensation.
After the surgery we would still expect you to me numb from the original anesthesia for another couple of hours. During this time your will be advised to eat something simple such a yogurt then to take pain relief and start your prescribed antibiotics. You will also be provided with a pack which includes antiseptic mouth wash, toothpaste and surgical soft brush with specific implant post-operative care instructions.
DAYS AFTER
Patients could experience temporary symptoms like pain, swelling within the first few days after the operation. We would expect you to have swelling and bruising in the region of the implant, especially if a graft material was used. Any pain is controlled with simple analgesics such as paracetamol.
HOW MUCH DO IMPLANTS COST?
Although associated with greater initial investments, in many cases dental implants may offer a more economical solution in the long term.
The initial costs of an implant treatment vary depending on several factors:
- The number of implants needed
- If additional surgical procedures are required
- The costs of the surgery, lab work and the prosthesis
- The dentist’s and dental technician’s fees
At Pearl Dental our implant fee is from £2500, any other extra fee would be discussed at your consultation appointment. The extra fees may include a bone graft or the option of temporary crowns.
WHAT IS THE AGE GROUP FOR IMPLANTS?
Provided that the patient does not display any significant medical risk factors, there is no age limit for dental implants; however, dental implants can only be used in young patients once their jaw bones are fully developed.
HOW LONG DO IMPLANTS LAST?
Dental implants are designed to be a permanent replacement solution. Long-term research has shown implants have a high survival rate. We value quality and reliability, and our implants are restored with a platinum approved technician.
HOW WILL I CARE FOR MY IMPLANTS?
Just like natural teeth, implants require regular check-ups and conscientious oral hygiene. With appropriate care, the long-term function of implants can be maintained.
Your dentist will guide you on cleaning and hygiene measures.
ARE THERE RISKS
Depending on medical or other conditions of each patient, potential risk factors will vary. Every surgical procedure carries potential risks. You should always consult with a dental professional prior to treatment. Potential risk factors may vary depending on medical or other conditions of each patient. For example, poor oral hygiene, smoking or limited healing of the wound due to pre-existing conditions (e.g. diabetes, osteoporosis) may reduce the odds of the implant remaining in place.
CAUTIONS/PRECAUTIONS
A careful clinical and radiological examination would be performed prior to surgery to determine suitability of the patient. Special attention would be given to patients who have local or systemic factors that could interfere with the healing process of either bone or soft tissue or the osseointegration.
